You are invited to attend the Office Productivity Networks next event at Unilever's UK HQ at Leatherhead, Surrey . This will be the 25 th OPN productivity best practice Workshop which aims to show exemplar workspaces which are delivering productive environments for their corporate occupants.
A global brand leader, with 150 million sales per day, Unilever has historically operated as three separate businesses (Food, Home and Personal Care and Ice Cream) with three separate headquarters in the UK . An initiative to achieve a more streamlined approach has led to the newly consolidated organisation working, since November 2008, for the first time under one roof at a new, 180,000sq ft, HQ in Leatherhead. The key objectives were to create an environment that acts as a mirror for the new organisation reflecting its values, its passion in its brands and its customers and consumers. The building also provides a stimulating workplace for staff enabling creativity, engagement and effective communication. The open plan design takes advantage of natural light and stunning views and facilitates extensive flexible working.
Previously back of house functions such as the demonstration kitchens now have a high profile position visible to visitors and staff. Centralised resource areas incorporating brand themed graphics reinforce the core business activities. This reflects the very carefully thought through approach to making the office deliver business objectives as a productive asset. A key challenge is that only 520 parking spaces are available for a 1,450 strong workforce.
The event will include presentations on the strategy, design development, change management, POE survey and the user view, followed by a question and answer session with the project team and users. Delegates will have an extensive tour of the building. An outline programme is enclosed. Places will be limited to 45, so if you wish to see at first hand how a high quality sustainable environment which supports 21 st Century ways of working has been created, please return the attached form to SBS Business Solutions as soon as possible. The charge for non-members is only £215 (plus VAT), which includes a buffet lunch. Please note that because of the commercial sensitivity of the site places are subject to approval by the host.
